Bunny time

Easter is a little early this year so I thought I’d share a couple cards I made for my swap group.

For this simple slimline card I used the Hipster bunny stamp set (THMM164). This set comes with a stencil that I used for the polka dot background, using Tumbled Glass oxide ink. The bunny and the sentiment were stamped with Versafine clair ink in Nocturne and colored with Prismacolor pencils. I cut the corners of the sentiment with an old SU! punch and finished it all off with pink ribbon and embellishments.

For the second card, I made the background by spraying distress mica sprays in Sugary Gumdrop, Flickering candle, Frosty mint and Snowflurries onto mixed media card stock. A few spritzes of water and the background was colored. I wanted a stitched look so I used Stampin Up!’s Stitched with Whimsy dies to create a stitch line. I went over this with a white gel pen to make it “pop”. I also blended Distress Oxide in Worn Lipstick to the edges. The picture does not do the shimmer justice!

For the bunnies I used Tim Holtz/Sizzix Bunny games die (665850). To make them fuzzy, I first bonded some Sizzix felt (neutrals and pastels) to similar colored card stock. I adhered permanent adhesive to colored card stock using my Xyron creative station, then adhered the felt sheets to them. The card stock makes the felt easier to die cut. I used a little worn Lipstick on a Qtip to add some rosy cheeks to my bunnies.

I cut the eggs out of regular card stock in pretty pastels. For the wreath, I cut two, one out of felt that I layered over one cut from regular card stock. These are from the Funky Wreaths die set (664434). The flowers were cut using Funky Floral #1 (662700). The sentiment is from the Crazy Talk stamp set (CMS236) just cut into a banner.

I hope these give you some inspiration to start your Easter makes. Have a great week! -Lisa
