This year my swap group decided to draw names and make special Valentine’s for each other. I happened to draw my best friend’s name , so I knew she would like this slightly grungy card with a matching candy holder. It also gave me an opportunity to use the new Vault rosettes die.

I used sprays on mixed media card stock to make the background. I used the crackle paste randomly over the paper to add some interest. I scuffed up the baseboard frame with a nail file and inked it with vintage photo. I finished the corners with hardware heads, added lace and bouquet flowers that I had colored with sprays. I dabbed the completed rosette with embossing ink so I could add the scorched timber glaze around the edge. After I assembled the heart I rubbed it with the cosmic shimmer gilding polish to add a bit of shine. I also added type chips spelling out “friend”. I had a lot of fun making this card and decided to add a little candy dish I made with rosettes and filled with my friend’s favorite candy.

I had so much fun making this set and I think she liked it a lot. Have a wonderful week everyone!- Lisa
Love, love, LOVE this!!
