It has been awhile since I’ve posted. 2023 was not my best year but I’m hoping 2024 will be better. I hope to start posting more regularly. With that said, here is the first card of 2024! I’ve been wanting to play with my die cuts and this card uses three!
Products used
- Dies: All are Tim Holtz for Sizzix- Wood Slice (666291), Feathered Friends (664433), Funky Wreath (664434)
- Tim Holtz/Sizzix 3D texture fades folder – Lumber(662718)
- Tim Holtz/ Ranger distress watercolor pencils- I used salty ocean, peeled paint, rustic wilderness, vintage photo, mustard seed and crackling campfire
- Tim Holtz/Ranger distress ink in vintage photo and distress oxide in weathered wood
- Nuvo drops in metallic-dirty bronze

I started by assembling and water coloring my birds. I found that i like using my water brush directly on the crayon and bending it on the watercolor paper as I go.
Then I embossed a piece of brown card stock with the lumber embossing folder. I lightly rubbed weathered wood just along the surface of the embossed piece just to give it some depth.

I did the same with the center piece of the wood slice using vintage photo

I then just assembled my card, using the letters from wood slice to spell out “you and me”. I finished my card with some small paper flowers from my stash, using nuvo drops for the centers.

That is it! An easy first card for the new year. I think this would be cute for Valentine’s Day or an anniversary. Hope you like it! – Lisa
