This was a gift for my lovely in-laws who celebrated an amazing 60 years of marriage June 30. I’ve covered their faces as they are not active on social media so I wanted to keep them private.

I first traced an etc tag onto a sheet of mixed media card stock. This card stock was my base that, when finished, got glued to the chip board tag. I sprayed it with Uncharted Mariner distress spray stain, Pumice Stone distress oxide spray and distress mica sprays in Snowflurries and Brushed Pewter. Once that was dry I used the flourish area of an old stencil I have to add a textured flourish to the top right and bottom left of the image. This stencil is an older one that I could not find any information on at all, but here is an image of it. I believe the same flourish is part of other stencils in the line as well.

I was going to use texture paste but found that my paste had unfortunately dried up. Instead, I ended up using grit-paste. I then rubbed some speckled egg distress ink over the top of it to blend it in a bit. I used my splatter brush to speckle the whole background with brushed pewter distress paint. I used black archival ink to stamp some images from CMS447 botanic college, and CMS071 french marketplace, randomly over the back ground.

I die cut several “love” sentiments and stacked them, then coated them with glaze (like crystal effects) to make it shiny. This was glued onto the upper right flourish.

For the large 60, I used leftover numbers I had from replacing our address light. When you buy those light kits they come with several sets of numbers and I’ve been saving them for just such an occasion. I sanded the numbers just a bit to give them some “tooth”, then I painted them with a coat of white gesso, then a couple of coats of picket fence distress ink. Finally, I coated them in a layer of distress grit-paste in snowfall to make them a little glittery. These were also splattered with brushed pewter distress paint.

The “L & B” (their initials) are older Tim Holtz Letterpress blocks (TH93130) that I painted with black soot and brushed pewter distress paints. These are glued over the bottom left flourish.

I used a friend’s old fashioned label maker to make a label with their wedding date and attached this under the 60. I dyed some mummy cloth (TH94155) with Broken china distress spray, and some flowers from the Idea-ology bouquet (TH93569) with Uncharted Mariner and Brushed pewter to add under the corner of the frame. The frame is the medium one from the vignette frames pack (TH93694). I painted it with Brushed Pewter Distress paint, then went over it with Black Soot distress crayon, wiping away the excess. This size is perfect for a standard wallet size photo.

I used the Alphanumeric (3/4″) dies (640056) to make the word years. I cut several of each letter, stacked them, then applied glaze (like crystal effects) to make them very substantial. This was glued next to the 60.

Finally, I painted the tag reinforcer with Black Soot distress paint, added some vintage pewter seam binding ribbon and added a quote token with black twine. I scattered a few crystal drops over the tag representing the “diamond” anniversary. The whole thing was glued to a chipboard etc tag.

I painted the back of the tag with picket fence distress paint. I stamped several images/parts of images in black archival ink to a piece of blank collage paper that I cut to fit the back of the tag. It was attached and sealed with collage medium. I painted the edge of the tag with Brushed Pewter distress paint, then went over the edges with Black Soot distress ink.
I hope you enjoy this project. Have a great week!- Lisa
It’s beautiful. A lot of work, but totally worth it for the finished product
