Mr. Bones

I’ve been fighting a stomach bug this week, so my project this time is fairly simple, but fun. With all the new Halloween products coming out, I decided to go through my stash and use some of the older items up, because once you use it, you can get more, new, stuff right? LOL Hope you like it.

Materials Used:

Mr. Bones stamp set (CMS345)

Worn Wallpaper Halloween (TH93974) -this is last year’s version

Mummy cloth (TH93982)

Tim Holtz tiny clips (TH94025)

Hero Arts Intens-ified black ink pad

Distress Ink in Vintage Photo

Tim Holtz paper stash- Departed (TH94054)

FSJ black licorice twine

Oatmeal cookie and Buttercream card stocks FSJ

Sizzix Tim Holtz Curio Box die (664419)

Everything you need

Steps:

  1. Cut a standard card base from Oatmeal cookie card stock to a measurement of 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″, folded. Cut a piece of Buttercream card stock 5 1/4″ x 4″ for the card liner. Cut a piece of worn wallpaper in half to measure 5″ x 4″. Finally, die cut a piece of Oatmeal cookie and a piece of Departed paper, using the framelits included in the curio box die.
  2. Stamp “Mr. Bones” on a scrap piece of Buttercream and “Happy Halloween” on a 1 1/8″ x 2 1/4″ piece of Buttercream. Stamp “Boo” on the card liner. Fussy cut Mr. Bones and distress the edges of all components with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
  3. Use Vintage Photo to distress a small piece of mummy cloth and gather it in the middle to make a “bow” you can clip in the center with a tiny clip.

4. Assemble your card. Attach the smaller curio frame to the larger, then pop up Mr. Bones on this piece using foam tape. Attach this unit to the wallpaper piece, lining up the top of the frame with the top of the wallpaper. Wrap black twine twice around the lower edge of the wallpaper piece, then attach the wallpaper to your card base. Pop up “Happy Halloween” under Mr. Bones using foam tape and clip your mummy cloth bow to the upper left corner. Don’t forget to attach your liner to the inside of the card.

That’s it! A quick, easy card to share with friends and family. Hoping to be back to normal next week. Stay safe and have a great week!- Lisa
